When I first read Little Women a few years ago, I’ll admit, I thought it was duller than dull. Perhaps it was because I had been spending the past few years immersed in new motherhood, and tales of domestic bliss bored me. Or maybe it was because we never read it as children, that I didn’t have a sense of nostalgia. None of that matters, though, because Greta Gerwig’s 2019 film adaptation of the book. Is. So. Wonderful.
The cozy clubhouse attic! The hand-crafted costumes! The Christmas morning feast! The genuine kindness and good! The female camaraderie! The stay-true-to-thyself mentatlity! Timothee Chalamet! It’s all so swoon worthy, and the ‘simple’ Victorian house they call home is charming beyond all measure, and it’s time we all move to the New England countryside to live our best lives.

Our friend Whitney threw the most colorful and fun wedding celebration. The reception had vintage planters filled with colorful blooms, and giant confetti-filled balloons. Here are a few photos from the florists behind Queen City Blooms:
The more crystals and bells in my house, the better. I can hear the crystals ring like bells and see the bells’ jingle flitter like light refracting off the crystals. It brings so much joy and happiness to my home.
In what felt like an intuitive decision, I hung a strand of bells on my front door, in lieu of a working doorbell (plus, who answers the doorbell anymore anyways?). Little did I know that hanging bells on your front door is a centuries-old concept in Feng Shui, warding off negative energy and inviting harmony in the house.
Want to add some extra oomph and harmony to your own front door? Here are some fun bells to try:
These sleepy ladies come in all sizes and shapes (just like us!), and we are addicted. Whenever we find them at local gift shops, we snatch them up.
Her name is “Wabi Sabi Mama,” because she broke into 100 pieces, and while I cried for her loss, my husband glued and puttied her back together. She always looks fabulous, despite her scars. Currently she rocks a feather headdress, collected lovingly by a zookeeper friend. This one is from a greenhouse in Ozark, MO, but here is a similar one: Venus Head Garden Planter .
